My college (KDU) hosted "Dare to Think Pink!" event last Wed, for the Gender Awareness Campaign. Where all college kids had to wear anything thats PINK. Main target : (ofcourse) the GUYS. Instead of their usual black. Blue. White. that just screams BO-RING.

They did a sketch about this girl who does ALL the things that a guy would be expected to do when it comes to dating. A reversed role from the usual norm. She would ask him out on every date. Held his hand first. Touched his hair first. Paid the bill.
Basically taking the LEAD. And she was the one to bend down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?". All this and still manage to stay very feminine!

I guess there is no such thing as "it's a girl thing to do" or "it's a guy thing to do" anymore in this world. And i myself tend to take the lead most of the time but always wondered why guys are soo shy or too slow or just too blur or afraid to just stop me and say, NO! LET ME DO IT.
And act more gentlemen-like. But most Malaysian guys arent gentlemen.
Sad to say but very, very few Malaysian guys would open doors for girls, nor would give you their seat if they see you standing there. They rarely do that even if they know you, what more to say if they dont. Their ego is just too big for that. sigh. Wish they were more like Aussie guys.

Local celebrities were also invited to enliven the multitude of students already swarming the cafeteria. Appearances by Harith Iskandar, Aishah Sinclair and Sazzy Falak definitely cause havocs!
And the mass comm students did a fashion show, which was, you guessed it, all pink-oriented. It was VERY CHIC. The models danced their way down the runway rather than doing catwalk. Imagine pretty boys doing groovy moves (micheal jackson walk) wearing pink floral shirts and corsages. Haha. It was really cute.

Few bands and singers performed as well. Including our very own KDU rising teenstars. They were out in the latest Nokia ads, Nescafe ads and had done videoclips and came out with an album. All after winning a hiphop talent search called "Blastoff" two years back.
Even Aishah Sinclair (who's brother is famous, gorgeous actor Ashraf Sinclair) was an ex-KDU student. I didnt know there were lots of famous names that studied in my college. But the mass comm program here is v popular and lots of them actually made it BIG.

That's my roommate on the left (picture below). And her name's Zest Tan. She's one the brightest student in mass comm and she did almost all the job for the campaign. Spent sleepless nights over it but I'm so proud of her.

The posters turned out fabulous. The sponsors were all taken care of. The publicists came. Zest did the photographing. And everyone were assiduously making sure everything was smooth. Cos they'll be evaluated by lecturers for their performance. Anyway awesome job guys!
