a sudden rendezvous

It wasnt my intention to go out on that weekend. NEARLY went OU with Sue and Charmaine that evening. Later knowing the rest of my friends are there didnt turn out to be helpful either. In the end, ofcourse, I went la. Ha ha.

We drop by Makbul to have some dinner/supper before our midnight movie. Thanks to Omar, we had really good seats. Second-row from the front. You can tell how excited we are to watch it up close huh? He He He. (kidding O, thanks for the tics)

Atleast I get to watch X Men 3. AWESOME movie. I Like.

get loco

Hang out at The Curve with the forever-happening mass comm-ers. I'm the only A Level student there. But it was Nick's 19th birthday. Mr. Nice-Likeable-Popular guy. With the cake and all. Cant miss that!

In Kim-Gary's. Happy birthday Nick!

Lots of new shops in The Curve. Everything is just too cute. Need to shop. Like, desperately. But im broke today. Going this Sunday though with roomie Zest. Heh heh heh. We need to get bikinis, flipflops, sunglasses, shorts, all the beach wear. I know it's too soon for KK beach-trip in August. But who cares! i cant wait!!!

starbucks

My roommate is back. Yeay! So we grab a cab outside my house and off chilling at Starbucks in 1U (its a huge shopping mall in Petaling Jaya). Lots of catching up to do. We even studied there for Pete's sake. Haha. No kidding!

Blueberry danish and Cream-based Caramel Frapuccino. Yum! But actually i wanted coffee-based. I ended up yawning the entire time studying. But still, Yum!

The sofa was comfy, but it was pretty warm there. The cashier said the air-con had some problems. Minus points for 1u Starbucks.

I saw this girl from 8tv Quickie. I dont remember her name but she's the one with the black rimmed glasses. God she was so bloody skinny.

Oh and I had my Dunkin Donuts. Double Chocss!

Ah, my craving is doing me bad AGAIN. I so wanna bite those delectable double choc's from Dunkin Donuts! And i really wanna treat myself at somewhere nice. I always do that and it's tonnes of fun. Its really been a while. hmm im thinkin TGI Fridays.. or perhaps someplace new..

lip-smackers

Final exams. Stress. Crankiness in the house. I'm fortunate there's still few people that i can bond with around here. People i would consider normal!
When there's someone shouting all of a sudden, out of stress, that could only lead to one thing. And one thing only.
"Hey, let's get out and get some good food!!!" Yeah eating is the only answer to studying. The other day we went studying in Uptown, ended up shifting from Starbucks-McDonalds-Secret Recipe.
Current 5 lip-smackers
1. Secret Recipe (gurl's Achilles heels are CAKES!)
2. Murni ss2
3. Nasi lemak in ss223
4. Dave's Place
5. Itallianies
( 6. Dunkin Donuts :D )
Know any other place in KL with good food? Well let's make a little prayer first while we're at it.

Happy Mother's Day

I love you, mum.

I could never ask for a better role model. She single-handedly raised my brother and I, showered us with all the love in the world and gave us everything that a child could ever ask for. Thank you for molding me to be the improved person that i am today. I cant wait to see her at the end of next month.

Happy Mother's Day.

a taste of reality

Life never cease to baffle me. My history paper turned out to be a catastrophe. The format was CHANGED this year and we were not informed about it. No mention at all of Napoleon, Cavour, Mazzini or anything we focused on.
I expected ALOT out of this paper. The frustration i felt when i turned the paper was beyond words. But I'm just praying somehow my essays would turn out alright. no point crying over spilled milk right.
I also realized that my life is quite a staggering one. Like a sequence of events out of a movie. Chaotic!
(1) Controversies in my house, 20 girls living under one roof. Imagine that.
(2) A mad and desperate landlady.who comes bothering our life 3 times a day!Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
(3) A roguish thief who steals food from our fridge!
(4) A trap set up for the notorious stealer. with laxatives substance spreaded all over the food-trap. (it worked. but we caught someone we didnt expect)
(5) Crooks in my neighbourhood. A guy tried pulling my hsemate's bag. Another entered the compound and pretended to search for rooms to let for his gf. One just open windows and decided to pop his ugly face inside.
(6) Lots of two-faced people, who enjoys spreading stories about their friends. True or not, it doesnt really matter. Ends up twisting it as it gets more interesting. Major propagandist.
If i go on babbling everything, this list will surely be ENDLESS. so thats about it for now.
But the most dissapointing one was having friends who pretended to be like one. When all they do is create bad (i mean really bad) stories about every friend they have. That is just totally wrong.
True friends wont talk bad about you. They defend you. True friends won't laugh when they hear your problems. They comfort you. True friends will help you with sincerity. Not with vested interest.
I'm glad to have met my real friends around here. Despite all thats going on. My life may not be as wonderful as it always appears to be. But i'm glad i'm with a bunch that always have fun and that i can count on when i needed someone to care.

Think Pink

My college (KDU) hosted "Dare to Think Pink!" event last Wed, for the Gender Awareness Campaign. Where all college kids had to wear anything thats PINK. Main target : (ofcourse) the GUYS. Instead of their usual black. Blue. White. that just screams BO-RING.

They did a sketch about this girl who does ALL the things that a guy would be expected to do when it comes to dating. A reversed role from the usual norm. She would ask him out on every date. Held his hand first. Touched his hair first. Paid the bill.

Basically taking the LEAD. And she was the one to bend down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?". All this and still manage to stay very feminine!

I guess there is no such thing as "it's a girl thing to do" or "it's a guy thing to do" anymore in this world. And i myself tend to take the lead most of the time but always wondered why guys are soo shy or too slow or just too blur or afraid to just stop me and say, NO! LET ME DO IT.

And act more gentlemen-like. But most Malaysian guys arent gentlemen.

Sad to say but very, very few Malaysian guys would open doors for girls, nor would give you their seat if they see you standing there. They rarely do that even if they know you, what more to say if they dont. Their ego is just too big for that. sigh. Wish they were more like Aussie guys.

Local celebrities were also invited to enliven the multitude of students already swarming the cafeteria. Appearances by Harith Iskandar, Aishah Sinclair and Sazzy Falak definitely cause havocs!

And the mass comm students did a fashion show, which was, you guessed it, all pink-oriented. It was VERY CHIC. The models danced their way down the runway rather than doing catwalk. Imagine pretty boys doing groovy moves (micheal jackson walk) wearing pink floral shirts and corsages. Haha. It was really cute.

Few bands and singers performed as well. Including our very own KDU rising teenstars. They were out in the latest Nokia ads, Nescafe ads and had done videoclips and came out with an album. All after winning a hiphop talent search called "Blastoff" two years back.

Even Aishah Sinclair (who's brother is famous, gorgeous actor Ashraf Sinclair) was an ex-KDU student. I didnt know there were lots of famous names that studied in my college. But the mass comm program here is v popular and lots of them actually made it BIG.

That's my roommate on the left (picture below). And her name's Zest Tan. She's one the brightest student in mass comm and she did almost all the job for the campaign. Spent sleepless nights over it but I'm so proud of her.

The posters turned out fabulous. The sponsors were all taken care of. The publicists came. Zest did the photographing. And everyone were assiduously making sure everything was smooth. Cos they'll be evaluated by lecturers for their performance. Anyway awesome job guys!

Studying Hardcore

Look at that kid. Look at THAT expression. Though it might be a little scary. With some exaggerated kid angst going. But I know how he feels.

My A-Level Final starts next Wed. First paper : Modern European History, 1789 - 1939. God help me.

Anyway, this is one of our all-nighter studying session. Everybody was already asleep when i took this pic at around 7. We started studying at 9 the night before, and i was probably the last one to battle it all out. Though I was more of battling with myself to stay awake than with my history notes.

Mz's laptop still blasting away with some J-pop songs. My laptop kena shut cos its distracting me from studying. My Italian Resorgimento book. My Dunkin' Donuts. My Coffee. All trying to keep me sane, atleast for a while longer.

But i feel great knowing that i studied. Hope i'll be able to portray that in my exams. And that my memory wont fail me. So work with me, History cos I'm trying hard to work with you. That sounded so methaphoric but nevermind.

Best sial!

Our day trip to PD was absolutely awesome. Tonnes of fun! Most of the time, I was literally screaming instead of talking. Too hyper. We wanted this trip to be as fun as it can possibly be. Cos after today, we'll be back to cracking our heads for finals. I'm glad it turned out to be way,way BETTER than i thought.

We visited the local market. Bought some local food and had coconut drinks. It was a good shift of atmosphere. From the high-class, buzzing city of KL to the laid-back, suburbs of PD.

We drove to ALL the beaches. Checked out ALL the hotels. We came across incredibly beautiful resorts one after the other. But the best to me was C0rus Paradise Resort.

Seriously not bad at all for a local resort.

The moment you stepped into the entrance, you can already feel the strong, violent breeze from the beach up front. The sound of the wind. The sound of the waves. Simply PERFECT.

It was just 3 of us. O, me and MZ. The very few ppl that I trust around here. My classmates were in PD too. Shini, Mary Anne, Mona and her mum. But they came pretty late. I had to rush back home instead of staying over at Mona's apartment as initially planned.

Well from being super duper hyper and capturing awesome shots (thanks to mz)...

to just pure chilling beside the beach.. Listening to songs. Just like O always say, CHILL MUSIC!!

We definitely got what we wanted out of this trip. Peace of mind. Memories of our college days. With lots of pictures and funny videos along with it.

And sadly also a bad sunburn.
